Gasera PA-101 Photoacoustic Gas Measurement System

The PA-101 Photoacoustic Gas Measurement System works with most FTIR instruments having appropriate mirror scanning velocities. The measurement system is capable of sensitivities comparable to long-path gas cells and liquid nitrogen cooled detectors. The PA-101 replaces the gas cell/detector combination with a unique short and low volume gas cell connected to the patented MEMS based optical microphone. Unlike conventional gas measuring systems, the short path of the PA-101 assures linearity of signal over a wide concentration range and allows excellent water subtraction without
compromising the sensitivity of the gas detection.

Gasera PA-301 Photoacoustic Liquids and Solids Measurement System

For solid and liquid samples the new PA-301 Photoacoustic Detector Accessory is introduced. The accessory is ten times more sensitive than other commercially available photoacoustic systems. The increased sensitivity allows the accessory to be used without helium purge or used on a smaller FTIR with less modulated light energy and still achieve improved sensitivity. In order to achieve n times more sensitivity with an FTIR instrument, the averaging time has to be increased by a factor of n², thus the tenfold increase in sensitivity will allow a considerable decrease in the measurement time using the PA-301, or in some cases makes measurements possible that were not feasible with the conventional photoacoustic accessories. Dark samples, such as treated nanoparticles, catalysts, or the enclosed bitumen for example that are very difficult to sample in the infrared, become simple to deal with.
