Middleton Research is presenting "Hyperspectral Monitoring of Moving Process Samples"
Abstract: Hyperspectral imaging is the next frontier for spectroscopy in measuring moving samples in process analysis. Pharmaceutical, food and other industrial production samples have spatially non-uniform concentrations that need to be monitored for quality assurance and to improve the control of the processes. Hyperspectral push-broom spectral line-cameras are ideally suited for continuously moving industrial samples, producing at very high speed a full high resolution spectrum of each point of a line. Fully parallel spectral measurements of many points in a line allow one to scan a moving sample and monitor its entire surface. Measurement examples in the 1000-2500 nm wavelength region are presented. Challenges and possibilities for the monitoring of continuous process products are discussed with specific examples related to pharmaceutical formulations and semiconductors.
